Park Information:
No reservations. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve
basis. There are 26 sites for tent and small trailer use. Rustic campground
includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump.
Designated Watchable Wildlife Site Tomahawk Creek Flooding provides excellent viewing of nesting loons in June;
ospreys, bald eagles, and other wetlands birds and wildlife.
Fishing Tomahawk Lake (on site): Perch, Bass, and Bluegill. Tomahawk Creek Flooding (1/2 mile South): Bass, Bluegill, and Pike.
Shoepac Lake (1 mile North): Bass, Panfish, and Trout.
Hiking High Country (on site): Over 80 miles of varied terrain connecting 9 State
Forest campgrounds winding through scenic back country. Sinkhole (1 mile North):
2.5 miles of flat to rolling terrain through the interesting carst topography of
the area's natural limestone sink holes.
Boating Access Site/Launch - Access for boating and fishing. Tomahawk Lake: Ramp at campground. No high speed boating. Tomahawk Creek Flooding (1/2 mile South): Ramp at Tomahawk Creek Flooding State
Forest Campground. No high speed boating. Shoepac Lake (1 mile North): Ramp at
Shoepac Lake State Forest Campground. No high speed boating.
Other Atlanta ATV Trail (1 mile South): 82 miles of cycle/ATV trail. Brush Creek Route (11 miles South): 35 miles of full-sized vehicle ORV route.
