Welcome to Emmet County

Emmet County is located in the Northern Lower Peninsula and is traversed by US-31 and US131 with Lake Michigan to the west.

The county also encompasses the Waugoshance island group, while the county seat, Petoskey, is at the heart of a large natural harbor. Other incorporated communities within the county include, Alanson, Harbor Springs, and Pellston. This county is experiencing some of the most rapid growth in the state, with a major resort development underway and a thriving industrial base continuing to grow.
