North of West Branch via County Road 15 and County Road 20.

Park Information:
Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No
reservations. There are 19 sites, most will
accommodate 40 foot vehicle/trailer. Located on Ambrose Lake with boating and
fishing access. Off-Road Vehicle trail head at campground. Rustic campground
includes vault toilets and potable water from well hand pump.
- Designated Watchable Wildlife Site
Rifle River Recreation Area (11 Miles East) showcases a wide variety of habitat
types and offers opportunity to view Michigan's largest bird, the trumpeter
swan, as well as loons, great blue herons that nest in the area.
- Fishing
Ambrose Lake (on site): Panfish, Bass. Clear Lake (1.5 miles West): Panfish, Pike, Walleye. Horseshoe Lake (2 miles West): Panfish, Bass.
- Hiking
5 miles SE at Ogemaw Hills offers 13.6 miles of rolling terrain. Hike,
mountain bike, or cross-country ski.

Ambrose Lake access at campground offers 9 miles of cycle/ATV trail connecting
to the Michigan Cross Country Cycle Trail. Ogemaw Hills (5 miles South) offers 26 miles of cycle/ATV trail with 10 miles
suitable for full-sized vehicle ORV route. Connects to MCCCT. Rose City is 6 miles North and offers 15 miles of cycle/ATV trail connecting to
MCCCT.
